The 2nd Big Saturday Training was or “crisis management” year. It was a total exercise in Murphy’s Law. As the date for the event approached, Oklahoma suffered the wettest spring in history. The Sac and Fox PD range, which had agreed to host us, was underwater on the scheduled weekend. (Literally 10′ of water covered the range and up to the range house door.) This forced us to reschedule the event. Unfortunately the new weekend didn’t coincide with several of our instructors/presenters and students. But following the Oklahoma Shooting Skills philosophy of if there is one student, there is a student, we pressed forward! Due to the loss of presenters/instructors, those instructors that were able to attend ended up presenting several additional classes. It was an exhausting day, but in the end we saw the day as a success. Student were trained. Skills were expanded.
